AltitudeTracker is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how the app handles your data.
Location Data
AltitudeTracker processes GPS data locally on your device. Your trip data (altitude, elevation gain/loss) is:
- Processed entirely on your device
- Never transmitted to external servers
- Never stored permanently beyond your current session
What We Do NOT Collect
AltitudeTracker does not collect:
- Personal information or account data
- Exact GPS coordinates or trip routes
- Any data that could identify you personally
Anonymous Analytics
The app collects anonymous usage statistics through Aptabase to help us improve the app. This includes:
- Vehicle manufacturer and model
- Starting city (not precise coordinates)
- Basic app usage patterns
This data is fully anonymous and cannot be used to identify individual users. Aptabase is GDPR-compliant and does not use cookies or cross-app tracking.
Permissions Required
The app requests the following permissions:
- Fine Location: Primary GPS reading for altitude tracking
- Coarse Location: Backup location method
- Foreground Service: For widget updates while driving
Third-Party Services
AltitudeTracker only shares anonymous analytics data with Aptabase. The app does not use:
- Advertising networks
- Crash reporting services
- Any other third-party tracking
Data Security
Since all trip data is processed locally and never leaves your device, your information remains secure and under your control at all times.
